What It Is

Some Thai bank ATMs dispense cash without a card. You select cardless withdrawal on the screen, the machine shows a QR code, and an exchange service pays for that withdrawal on your behalf. In this ranking the method is offered by 2Change, Senate Exchange, ExFM, ARBI Exchange and Money Shop Phuket. Neither a Thai card nor a Thai bank account is required.

For visitors this is the route that removes the two usual blockers at once: a Russian card that does not work in Thailand, and a local account that takes a branch visit and a long-stay visa to open.

How It Works

Agree the amount with the manager first — with 2Change the baht figure is confirmed before you pay. Send roubles or USDT. At the machine, choose withdrawal without a card, photograph the QR code on the screen and send the photo to the manager. When payment is confirmed, the ATM dispenses the notes; with 2Change that is from 5 minutes.

You need a phone with a camera and working mobile internet, because the whole exchange runs through a messenger. An eSIM installed before departure removes the scramble for a SIM card on arrival.

How It Compares

Against a courier, the ATM has no threshold: at ARBI Exchange courier delivery is free only from 30,000 THB, while a withdrawal can be repeated at whichever machine is closest. Against an office visit, it ignores opening hours — counters in Kata, Karon, Rawai, Bang Tao and Patong typically work 10:00 to 22:00, and none of the ranked services has an office in Mai Khao or the far north.

Against a card, it avoids two fees: 250 THB at a Krungsri ATM for UnionPay and Visa, 350 THB for Mastercard, plus the issuer's own charge. A Mir card is not a fallback here at all, since it cannot be used to withdraw cash in Thailand.

Practical Notes

Amounts start at 8,000 THB with 2Change and 1,000 THB with ARBI Exchange; Money Shop Phuket uses a separate rate below 8,000 THB and Senate Exchange a higher rate below 10,000 THB.

Machines dispense the denominations they hold, usually 1,000 THB notes. Small vendors, songthaews and beach cafes often cannot change them, so break a large note at a supermarket or a 7-Eleven rather than at a market stall.
